Carrie Babington and Bette McCallon were good friends living in Litchfield in 1979. Both had three young children each, enjoyed sewing, had an eye for interior design and wanted to make some extra money. While their children were in school, the two women began painting, hanging wall paper and offering their interior design services to the Litchfield community.

Marge Mehmken is trading in her bowling ball for a sewing needle
