After you learn how to use the sewing machine and if you're interested in learning how to use patterns the cutting class is the next step in learning how to sew.
I don't tell you what you have to sew. It's more fun to make what you want so you feel a sense of pride when you finish sewing your project.
In the cutting class you learn how to cut out your project properly. Learn how to place the pattern pieces on the fabric the right way. If you make a mistake in cutting it can cost you money.
You must bring with you to class an easy pattern, fabric and anything needed for your first sewing project (listed on the back of the pattern envelope).
Remember to wash your fabric to preshrink it before the class begins. There's nothing worse than making clothing, wearing it once, washing it only to not have it fit again.
I run 5-8 cutting classes a month. You can check the calendar to see what class fits your schedule. You can also enroll to any class online.
If you don't have time to visit the fabric store you can always buy a ready to sew project and attend the sewing class.
